Air activities!

Air activities badge:

We are very lucky where we live in South Somerset to be so close to Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum. The Scouts and cubs have visited on a number of occasions to take part in the specially resourced activities run by the museum to meet the requirements of the air activities badge work. A great mix of education and fun had by all.

Links with Yeovilton Air Station.

We are very lucky to have some naval personnel within the parent and Scout Active Support team in West Coker Scout Group. Thanks to their volunteering and king efforts our young people have had the opportunity to see behind the scenes at the air station visiting the helicopters, hangers and having a go on the training helicopter flight simulator! thank you guys for all your efforts.

Gliding

Glider Flights can be arranged  as part of the programme for Scouts and Explorer Scouts. We have local contacts at Yeovilton for locally run taster sessions.

Gliding, microlights and lightweight air craft activities have also been experienced by the explorers as part of recent international activity camps such as Kent International Jamboree in 2013.
